September Happenings

Another summer concert for us! This time we went to DJ Kaskade with the Davis' which turned out to be way more hip than we thought and drew a crowd much younger than us....there were hardly any young kids there...for good reason. And we were the only people that brought camp chairs. We also had a crazy experience with a car blazing through the street that had been blocked off and was full of people. Amazingly, no one was hurt but it did shake us up a bit! All in all though, we had a great time rocking out to some serious beat drops and coming away being able to say that we rocked with DJ Kaskade!

Labor Day fun with the Johnsons included a day of boating, campfires in the back yard, and lawn mower pulls from Luke.

Owen's second favorite toy behind the shopping cart....his orange car.

We took to the pavilion behind our house at the mouth of Slate Canyon to watch a big rainstorm approaching.

Mark contemplating the mysteries of the universe.

Rain or shine, Owen will be out with his cart. He LOVED the gutters rushing with water.

"Mom save me!" Mark Bleggi, one of Mark's coworkers, bred hunting dogs and invited us over to meet the puppies. Owen wasn't so sure.

Both Mark and I agree...this is the ugliest picture we've taken to date.
Aside from that...this is us celebrating our birthdays! 28 and 35!

I had a morning without Owen because Gamy had him. So I decided it would be a good day to deep clean and degrub the 4runner as there was not a cloud in the sky and no forecast for rain. I thought I was in the clear and spent a few hours detailing. Well, not but a few hours after Mark took the 4runner camping with the scouts and sent me this picture. Literally, I've never seen it so caked in mud up in the wheel wells, mud on the interior....the irony just made me laugh.

The scouts' campsite by Squaw Peak!

Owen knows how to sustain new callings. Put both yo hands in da air!

Karlee, Kara and I took a trip with the kiddies up to Swiss Days in Midway. It was a zoo! We've never seen so many people at a boutique like that. somehow we all still managed to spend money;). I bought this beautiful stained glass bird that was made from recycled glass used on the Provo City Temple.

Cousin time with Trent at Emmett's football game in Lehi!

Owen's favorite spot! The playground next to our house!

Baby girl is really starting to grow...28 weeks.

Owen is a pro at puzzles. And if you look closely, you can see I've been practicing doing baby hair in preparation for baby girl....sorry Owen.

The dishwasher had its last day and began pouring water onto our laminate ahhh! Luckily, Brad was over for dinner and caught it...we were on our way out the door and wouldn't have noticed it until returning home. Floors saved! Mark is the man and found a great dishwasher and installed it.

August Happenings

Our Saturday hiking outings have continued. We tried out Donut Falls up Big Cottonwood Canyon...it was a beautiful day and hike. Owen again loved running through the water and throwing rocks into the river.

Provo city puts on a Summer Concert Series in front of the Nu Skin building. This concert was a John Lennon tribute and it was AWESOME!!

I scored a sweet t-shirt and free glasses.

I came home from working on campus at BYU to find Mark and Owen had been sledding down the stairs into pillows. Owen was laughing so hard!

Another Saturday morning adventure...this time we rented bikes from Outdoors Unlimited and rode the Provo River Trail up to Vivian Park and then stopped at Bridal Veil Falls on the way back down. Owen was so comfortable in the bike trailer, he fell asleep.

Our last Saturday adventure took us to South Fork past Vivian Park. I fell on my bum on the way back down from my shifting center of gravity;)...aaaand I decided that would be the last hike for me. It was a beautiful day and we hardly saw anybody on the trail. The trees were already starting to show their autumn colors.

Owen's favorite toy. Need I say more. He takes this up and down and around the neighborhood, all day every day if I let him.

We took a trip with the Bridegans to the aquarium!

Owen kept saying 'ish' for fish.

One of my house projects before baby comes was to organize the pantry. While I was busy making one mess, Owen was busy making another.

One of Owen's first words....'bumbo'...but it comes out 'bummo'.

We took a family camping trip up Hobble Creek Canyon. This was the first time Mark and I had ever been camping together and we discovered we camp very similar. We were all business....get in, set up camp, cook dinner, have some camping activities, sleep, get up early, and take down the camp before the sun hits, head home. Haha.

My People!

We did a balloon gender reveal....with....PINK balloons! Owen gets to be a big brother to a baby sister!

July Happenings

We started July off with a bang! We drove to Pueblo West, CO to see the Murray's for the 4th of July. Minus the driving time (I wanted to barf the whole way)...we had a great time visiting. There is a tradition in Pueblo West to have a water parade for the 4th. I'd never heard of such a thing. I stayed back with Owen, but loved hearing the wild stories from everyone else about what happened. About 20,000 people come to this parade armed with as much water as possible to fire at the floats that are as equally loaded with water tanks and water trucks and hoses. Everybody leaves completely drenched! Levi's dental office had a float that everybody rode on through the parade. Mark said he felt like he was in a war zone!

Bo and Owen...these two are so alike.

Owen loves brushing his teeth....or rather sucking all the toothpaste off the brush:).

We said goodbye to the Murray home as they were getting ready to sell their house and move to a new home near Colorado Springs, CO.

Owen wasn't so sure about fireworks....I'm totally ok with that...it meant free snuggles for me.

Owen decided he loved oranges at the Murray's 4th of July cook out.

It was Piper's birthday! It was so fun to see her beaming as she blew out her candles and open all her presents. She's such a sweet little girl.

We took a hike one Saturday to Battle Creek Falls up a canyon behind Pleasant Grove. Owen is never happier than when he is throwing rocks into water.

On another Saturday, we drove Mark up Squaw Peak where he took off on his mountain bike along the mountain ridge that drops down into Rock Canyon. He said it was pretty rough and longer than he thought, but really beautiful!

One of my nurse friends from the ED Becca Welch found out this year the baby boy, Brigham, she was pregnant with had anencephaly. She was amazing and carried the baby to term. He died 30 minutes after delivery. I drew a picture of their family next to Christ holding their baby boy, which I was so honored to find out they had put on his gravestone. His funeral was a powerful reminder of the truthfulness of the Gospel and the Plan of Salvation. The Welch's had a big party right before Becca's delivery to celebrate their little boy's life. They are amazing examples of faith and hope. Pictured here is part of the ED crew: Crystal, Dr Smith, Becca, Amy, and Melissa.

Date Night! We went out one night to a fancy chocolate tasting restaurant called Taste! We enjoyed being the only people in the place.

Mark is so dainty.

We went up one night to Clark Davis' family cabin up past Vivian Park. His grandpa had built the cutest miniature house complete with miniature porch swing and piano.

Boating fun with grandparents.

Murray's came to Utah for a quick trip and the Ostebo crew took a big hike together to Battle Creek Falls!

Mark goes to a Texas Rangers game on one of his work trips to visit a range. He says he got to boo 'A-rod'.
